Users review: Prisoners are very exciting and equally disturbing. Canadian Denis Villeneuve, whose last film was just as gripping and shocking Incendies, build the excitement of the first chapter and does not let the entire 153 minutes of the film. Aaron Guzikowskis script, even though on the face of a child abduction thriller, Love all the bucks the trend, such as a taut thriller that poses serious ethical questions. It also helps that the film is first-rate cast to work better: Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Terence Howard, Melissa Leo, Maria Bello and Viola Davis. Prisoners are not for the faint hearted, but the fire is not likely to be a strong presence in next year's Oscars. |
