Users review: I am a man of obsessions. For months, a movie I had seen was something. Not Peter Jacksons The Hobbit, not Joss Whedon's The Avengers, or even after the Sam Mendes directed James Bond film Skyfall (which Im excited, but not really dug her nails into me yet) ... No, it was Andrew Stanton, John Carter. My excitement is not universal. Disney dropped the ball advertising trailers seem boring to most. But something inside me toward her as a compass points to true north. There was something special about him, something just out of sight in the trailers would not let me. I believe that my obsessions, always, but at one point I started to feel a little tired and just wanted to know whether I was right or total loon.Ive Now the duo is progressing sessions JOHN CARTER.And? Holy Tharkas alive! The bar in the movie of fantasy science fiction was officially Raised.JOHN CARTER is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs A Princess of Mars - novel, first published over a century ago. Expected from the cinema with my head full of comparisons with all the things that inspired Burroughs imagination: Star Wars, Avatar, Flash Gordon, etc. Of course, I'm much more familiar with all of them. That did not happen. Simply put, if Star Wars is a franchise of science fiction films grown children want (and it is), then John Carter is a science fiction movie for adults that children will enjoy.CARTER is immersive experience. Every moment reveals something new about the Mars alien races and exotic cultures that call it their home, or their individual characters. James Cameron's Avatar showed us a world we have never seen before and it was great to see, but Andrew Stanton, John Carter is a movie so rich in details that made me feel like I'm somewhere. John Carter feels like nothing more than the way David Lean made science fiction epic of love and war set in Mars. This film trust, so no waiting. Fear of loss of time with the characters, and give them time to breathe and unfold. My favorite decade for movies is 1960, and John Carter has some of the most epic adventure films of the time going through it like a seam of gold. There are some Lawrence of Arabia is as mentioned before, and perhaps a touch of Zulu and Spartacus mixed with Martian airships and cities predators. Old-fashioned storytelling magic and sorcery film of the 21st century together in a film that is a mess sci-fi faithful masterpiece. To ERB: please relax. Yes, there are changes from the novel, no, they are not arbitrary changes made in the film adaptation of lower quality where the director just wants to make his / her own ideas. Made each change tell the story Burroughs or reveal certain aspects of Burroughs characters in the film instead novel.Going proper for this, I had ridiculously high expectations. A friend of mine told me that fears the film will not do and, frankly, I'm starting to sound a little crazy. Well, the film is surpassed my expectations. I love it, and gave it 10/10. Im definitely going to see it at least six times in the theater, and eventually buy a Blu-Ray, just to see it in HOME.I understand this single comment above. That's just how I am excited about the movie. Maybe in a previous life I was an ancient Greek name of hyperbole? Anyway, see the movie. I guarantee that even if you do not like as much as I do, you'll see where I was coming from with this comment stream. |
